Beyonce Knowles’ biggest fans know that the singer-songwriter’s real name is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter. BET claims the star’s first name is actually a tribute to her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, whose French maiden name is Beyincé, which is pronounced like, “bay-EN-say.”

Even though many of the singer’s fans might know this simple fact, fans online still want to know more about the Queen’s mother. BET reported that they recently looked up Google’s search feature which shows some of the more commonly asked questions about themselves and other people.

One such search query is Tina Knowles’ real name. The 66-year-old mother of the star actually revealed the details. Reportedly, Tina came out recently to reveal her real identity, which is Tina Beyincé Knowles-Lawson, but Célestine is her real name.

While many today would argue her real name is beautiful, Tina claims she thought it would be better to have the name, Linda Smith, due to its simplicity. Tina explained that when she was growing up, having an odd name wasn’t a cool thing like the way it is now.

As a child, her name was Célestine Beyincé, but she later changed it to Tina because it seemed way cooler to her. The star admitted she actually changed it when she was in the sixth grade. The Texas-born mother of Beyoncé added that her full name is Célestine Beyincé Knowles-Lawson.

Tina Knowles is the mother of Solange Knowles and Beyonce. This is an otherwise positive news story compared to some of the reports that have recently come out about the Knowles family. Dylan Fisher reported back in September of 2019 that Beyonce was embroiled in a legal dispute over her daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter.

Beyonce argued in court documents that she had every right to trademark the name, Blue Ivy Carter. Wendy Morales reportedly took Beyonce to court over a trademark dispute regarding the name. The name of Wendy’s company is Blue Ivy.

Reportedly, the pair have been fighting in the courts for years now. Morales claims she has used the name for a long time, however, and had every right to continue using the title for her business.

Social media users, surprisingly, haven’t been on Beyonce’s side, arguing that Morales had the name first, and accusing Beyonce of bullying her with her celebrity status and well-paid legal team.
